What happens on the course?

The Atherton Training days are open to all, but to ensure you get the most out of the day we will carefully vet applicants prior to the start of the course.
Riding with people of a similar level to yourself will give Dan, Gee and Rachel the best environment to teach you their secrets! The day starts in the classroom with a brief run down on the days program. While your grabbing a coffee with the guys a Oneplanet Adventure technician will check over your bike and ensure your trusty stead is ready for the days action ahead.

A short ride from the centre will take you to an area the Atherton's have developed especially for the training days.

The area includes a wide variety of terrain and obstacles including berms, jumps, drops and a rather tricky downhill section. Here you will ride in a small group (maximum of 6 riders) with one of the Atherton's assisted by one of Oneplanet Adventure's instructors.

The Atherton's will cover a diverse range of skills but the main focus will be on:

> Correct bike set up
> Correct riding position's
> Energy management
> Riding different types of transitions and drops
> Jumping skills, table tops, doubles and hips
> Cornering ability, breaking points and exit speed
> Increasing your speed and rhythm

A short break for lunch in the trail centre and back out for more in the afternoon session. Here's your chance to see improvements from the morning with video and timing sessions. Finally a de brief back in the classroom which will include video playback, timing analysis and a few final words from Dan, Gee or Rachel.
